You have to open it up, create a new session, type in the URL/IP, and then possibly authenticate. However, using this app directly is often a pain. All the other box needs is a VNC server, which Macs have built in since 10.4. It lets you remotely access other computers, whether they be UNIX, Mac, Linux, Windows, or any other type of box. OSX has a nifty program called Screen Sharing.
